Thanks to our generous community we were able to surpass our goal of $265,000 for our Trees of Caring Campaign! Over 1,800 community members, associations, clubs and corporations sent gifts in memory or in honour of their loved ones to help light up the Trees of Caring.
There are three stars that shine brightly on the top of our Trees of Caring and each year these stars are sponsored by community members, local businesses and community groups. This year our Gold Star was sponsored for $5,000 by our closest corporate neighbour, BWXT Technologies Inc. Our Silver Star was sponsored for $2,500 by the staff and volunteers of CMH. Our Bronze Star was sponsored for $1,500 by the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxialliary Branch 272, who have been sponsoring our Bronze Star since 2003. Thank you to all of our Star Sponsors!
For over 30 years. All Through the House has created beautiful, handcrafted Angels of Caring. This year they designed a beautiful Angel with bright red details. Thank you to all of the local bank branches and businesses for partnering with us to sell our Angels of Caring. Over 30 years, we have sold over 33,000 Angels of Caring and raised over $100,000 for our Trees of Caring campaigns. Thank you All Through the House for partnering with us!
Once again, Cambridge Toyota partnered with the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation in the months of November and December. During those months, Cambridge Toyota donates $25 for every new or used vehicle sold. Thank you Cambridge Toyota for partnering with us once again to light up the Trees of Caring!
This is the seventh year that the hospital’s Trees of Caring campaign has included a corporate banner program. Banners are sponsored by area businesses and hung along Coronation Blvd for the holiday season. This year our Banner Program raised $14,500 from 34 community organizations. Thank you to these businesses for continuing to support this program!

Woodland Park PS has made a difference by brightening the holidays for our young patients!
Baby it was cold outside!
However…. inside the hospital some special elves from Woodland Park PS warmed up CMH by donating loads of toys.
We would like to thank Woodland Park Public School, Principal Paul Schlegel, Ms. Val Riegle and the students of Me to We and all the students and families of the school who donated the toys.
Santa’s helpers were on hand to help accept the donation: Bert from ER, Tracy our Child Life Specialist and Sue Lockett from the Foundation. It took 3 loads on Santa’s sleigh to deliver all the toys to Pediatrics. Woodland Park PS has made a difference by brightening the holidays for our young patients! May all the children enjoy a healthy and joyous holiday season.

Keyspire Toy Donation
December arrives with warmth from the team at Keyspire, Nidhi lead the group organizing a Toy Drive for the Cambridge Memorial Hospital at their location on Pinebush Road.

On hand to accept the donation was Surekha Shenoy CMHF, Chair, Susan Lockett, Director of Development and Tracy Astorino our Child Life Specialist at CMH. The Keyspire team were welcomed with appreciation and informed of the great impact their donations make on the children who stay with us. (You may recognize Keyspire as the company founded by HGTV’s Income Property host, Scott McGillivray, alongside with President and Co-Founder Michael Sarracini…who knew they were located in Cambridge?)
Kathy Wildfong, Second Vice and Brenda Holm, Treasurer of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 272 dropped by the Foundation Office to present Megan Keleher, CMHF Development Officer, with a cheque totaling $2,830.00 for Trees of Caring.

They put a team together to collect new items for the Penny sale in April then sold more than 7,000 tickets and donated the proceeds of $700.00. On Remembrance Day the ladies came through again and cookeda delicious lunch and asked for a free will offering to Trees of Caring. They were delighted to collect $630.00.
