When someone you love is sick, the world can feel like it stops.

At Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation, delivering outstanding care takes a strong Community. From surgeons and nurses, to support staff and volunteers, each team member plays a vital role in helping patients across our Region return to life, work, and play.

That’s why everything we do at Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH) is designed to bring comfort, calm, and healing.

Right now, you can bring that sense of comfort and calm to someone- your neighbour, friend, co-worker or family member.

In our February letter to you, we discussed CMH being FUTURE READY. Preparing for the future is even more critical in today’s rapidly changing world. Thousands of your neighbours walk through CMH’s doors every year, facing uncertainty.

But thanks to kind people like you, they’re met with not just skilled medical care—but kindness they’ll never forget.

When talking about comfort, we don’t mean cozy furniture in our lobby or waiting rooms—we mean the real things that ease anxiety and support healing. With your help today we can place orders for the most urgently needed equipment in time for fall:

  • Treatment chairs that offer comfort to cancer patients through long treatments.
  • Smart beds that quietly monitor vital signs, helping patients rest and recover.
  • Fully equipped private rooms, now 80% of CMH’s capacity, protect dignity and promote faster healing.
  • Blanket warmers that offer warm blankets when they’re needed most.

These details aren’t extras. They’re how we help people heal—not just physically, but emotionally. Because being FUTURE READY means more than having the latest technology. It means creating a place where people feel cared for, safe, and seen.

Lorenza, is an example of the importance of feeling cared for and safe. At just 24, she came to CMH with sudden abdominal pain. It was an emergency— an appendectomy was needed immediately. She remembers:

“Everyone I encountered made what was a scary experience manageable. Their kindness and compassion truly made all the difference. Donating to CMH helps ensure that care is always close to home.”

Then there’s Gerry. A father of four and grandfather of eleven, who arrived by ambulance in March of 2024, suffering from what was later diagnosed by our ER physician as a perforated ulcer.

He spent 12 days in ICU.

Gerry shared with us how grateful he was not only by the level of care he received but also, the fact that his nurses from the ICU cared so deeply that they visited him even after he transferred units.

When you give, you’re not just funding equipment. You’re choosing to support the kind of care your Community deserves.

Please know that you are helping attract top physicians— those who once only considered big-city hospitals but now choose CMH because they see what we’re building here, together. That’s the CMH difference. And it exists because of people like you.

We encourage you to donate to your local Hospital today. That way, we can make sure patients this fall have everything they need—smart beds, treatment chairs, warm blankets, and the kind of care that heals inside and out.

Thank you for caring. Together, we’re making CMH a place where patients can return to life, work, and play—stronger than before.
