Help elderly patients and kids stay social during long hospital stays. These items help reduce stress, ease loneliness, and support cognitive engagement, especially for older adults or patients living with dementia.
Comfort items accepted: Books and activity books like crosswords and puzzles, Craft items such as scrapbook paper, other activities for pediatric patients.

Care Carts

Help provide convenience to patients and their families during end-of-life situations. Many families are reluctant to leave the bedside in these situations. Care carts are stocked with essential items to help bring ease and comfort during this difficult time.
Comfort items accepted: Toothpaste, toothbrushes, coffee pods, teabags, snacks, towels, small hand sanitizer, menstrual products, lip balms
Also funds for CMH to purchase specific carts, and approved models of kettles and coffee units, about $250 purchases one cart + appliances.
*Staples and Canadian Tire gift cards are also accepted

New Clothing

Provide clothing for families who may experience unexpected stays. We accept both adult and children’s clothes (NEW).
Comfort items accepted: New pajamas, sweatpants, winter coats, winter hats, mitts/gloves, socks, lap blankets (small), and other comfortable or warm clothing.

Barbies with Diabetes

Special Diabetes Dolls help our educators create awareness around diabetes. These barbies will also be handed out to pediatric patient’s diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.

Memory Box

Our staff and nurses use Memory Boxes to support families who have experienced a form of infant loss – miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death. Staff offers families with memory making opportunities with their babies after delivery and provide a hat, blanket and resources regarding grief and loss in the memory box. Help us offer comfort to the grieving families.
