Celebrating Community and Care: Islamic Centre of Cambridge’s Support for CMH

In Islam, giving back to the community is a deeply held belief. We are truly grateful to our longstanding community partner, the Islamic Centre of Cambridge for their unwavering support to CMH for over two decades.

For the Islamic Centre, CMH is a pillar of the Community, and they take great pride in helping bring essential equipment to the Hospital. “CMH is a vital part of the community. Everyone needs it and benefits from it,” says Mr. Khalid Khokhar, Executive Director of the Islamic Centre on their longstanding support of CMH.

From their annual contributions to purchase priority equipment to their pledge to help expand CMH, we share a history of partnership since 2002.

“This is our community, and we take great responsibility in building it together. Instead of going somewhere else for medical services, we need to focus on building our own Hospital that has all the equipment available for everyone’s use.”

-Mr. Khalid Khokhar

Islamic Centre member and CMHF Ambassador, Mr. Alam Mohammad, whose children were born at CMH, highlights the importance of this support, “giving back to the Hospital feels important to all our members. It brings a feeling of community and belonging. We believe we are building the hospital for our own future.”

Another CMH Champion we’d like to acknowledge from this community is the Islamic Centre’s Chairman, Mohammad Darr. Together with executive members, he has advocated significant support for CMH.

We are grateful for the Islamic Centre and all its members for choosing to support the Hospital. Our partnership is a perfect example that great things happen when communities unite.

Together, we make it possible.
