Hospital Board Volunteer Receives King Charles III Coronation Medal

We are proud to share that Sara Alvarado, CMH Board member since 2018 has been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal for her contribution to Canada on Sustainable Finance. She chairs the Digital Health Subcommittee and serves on the Resource Committee at CMH.

With over 32 years of experience in the investment industry, Sara is also a passionate advocate for local healthcare. She founded and organizes the annual Walk to Paris to raise funds for essential equipment at CMH. This tradition began when she decided to combine her love of fitness with her passion for excellent healthcare close to home in 2023, as she raised funds to bring a new MRI to CMH. This year’s Walk to Paris is happening June 8, 2025 offering 20 km and 10 km walking options.

Congratulations to Sara again for this well-deserved recognition.

We also thank our Muslim Community for their longstanding support of the Hospital. Recently, members of the Foundation team had the privilege to join a special Ramadan Iftar celebration at the Islamic Centre of Cambridge. Thank you for welcoming us and including us in your festivities.

CMH Golf Classic is Back

A Bridge of Love: A Patient Wedding Story

Staff at the B4 Surgical Inpatient Unit recently organized a beautiful wedding for Alicia and Richard on the Wing B4 Bridge, at Alicia’s special request. In just 24 hours, our staff arranged everything from Alicia’s dress and bouquet to the homemade wedding cake and decorations.

Surrounded by family, friends, and staff, the couple exchanged vows in a heartfelt ceremony officiated by Rob Heintz, Spiritual Care.

Thanks to our dedicated staff, CMH continues to uphold our mission of keeping people at the heart of all we do.
