Celebrating Sara’s Community Leadership

This Volunteer Appreciation Week, we want to recognize Sara Alvarado for her dedication, time and proactive support to healthcare. Sara is one of those exceptional leaders and volunteer whose work has made a significant impact on CMH, the Foundation and our broader community.

As part of the CMH Board, the Resources Committee and Digital Health Committee, Sara has provided thoughtful leadership to the hospital and helped guide the team through major milestones and challenges.

But her commitment extends beyond governance. Sara has been a longstanding advocate and Ambassador of CMH Foundation, actively supporting initiatives that help bring equipment to CMH and improve patient care. She also hosts the annual Cambridge to Paris Walk, where she encourages community members to join her in raising funds for priority equipment needed at CMH.

In addition to her contributions to the hospital, Sara is actively involved in the wider community. She serves in a volunteer leadership role with the Cambridge Symphony Orchestra and also contributes her expertise globally through participation in international working groups focused on sustainable infrastructure, digital innovation and inclusive development.

Sara’s work, both locally and globally reflects her drive and desire to service and improving community wellbeing. We are grateful for the many ways she gives her time and expertise to make a difference.

Thank you for all you do, Sara!
