Growing together with our community
As we reflect on this past year, we are grateful for those who make our hospital stronger every day.
Together with our community, we continue to build a respectful healing environment where everyone feels they belong, and people are always at the heart of what we do.
We remain committed to keeping exceptional care close to home as our community grows. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, CMH remains the most technologically advanced hospital in the Region, ensuring our patients have access to state-of-the-art equipment and innovative technology when they need it most.
This year also marked a historic milestone as CMHReveal 2026 raised more than $1 million. This is the largest amount ever raised through a single fundraising event in our hospital’s history. We are deeply grateful to our community whose generosity is fueling innovation and strengthening patient care.
As we look ahead, our growth continues. Guided by our Strategic Plan #reimagineCMH, we are launching a new Health Information System (HIS).
We will also install our new, donor-funded MRI and begin renovating our Sterile Preparation Room to support cancer care. These transformational investments will modernize care and improve the experience for patients and care teams alike.
Together, we make it possible.
Our sincere thanks to Cambridge Memorial Hospital donors, community partners, volunteers, and staff.
Spaces that reflect respect,
belonging and healing

When people feel respected and welcomed, they are more likely to build trust with their healthcare team, feel comforted when they’re vulnerable and experience better healing.
Our hospital continues to invest in building inclusive, accessible and culturally safe spaces that reflect the diverse communities we serve and ensure everyone feels they belong.
A significant step in this journey has been the installation of four Indigenous art pieces in the hallway connecting Wings A and B.
Building on the momentum of our Truth & ReconciliACTION plan, these colourful murals bring culture and connection into our healing spaces, welcoming patients, visitors and staff as they move through the hospital.

Community support makes history for our laboratory
Every diagnosis begins with a dedicated team behind closed doors.
Every breakthrough begins with a generous community.
At CMH, our community’s extraordinary generosity has been fueling precision, excellence and national recognition, proving that when donors invest in local healthcare, lives are truly changed.
This spirit of partnership and collaboration came to life last year when our laboratory earned national recognition as a Choosing Wisely Canada hospital at the Quality Improvement (QI) Status level.
We also witnessed the true magic of collaboration on February 27, when more than 400 community members, sponsors and friends fi lled Tapestry Hall for CMHReveal 2026 Starlight Serenade in support of our laboratory.
CMHReveal raised a historic $1 million for hospital equipment. A powerful statement of what we can achieve together.

Physician Spotlight
I wanted to be a part of a close-knit community where I could build lasting relationships with patients and families and watch children grow up healthy and confident.
Dr. Sufian Sheikh
Outside the operating room, Dr. Sheikh is an avid climber who has scaled Everest and Denali. A few years ago, he performed a complex surgery to remove a rare tumour from Zephaniah’s jaw.
Today, Zephaniah is a thriving student and has become a climber too.

Supporting healthcare can be fun
Hosting a community event in support of your hospital can be a fun and exciting way to make an impact. Here are some community events in support of CMH that added FUN to our fundraising efforts last year.

Jolene’s Wings Car Rally and Scavenger Hunt
The Clemens-Donovan family hosts the annual Jolene’s Wings fundraiser in memory of Jolene, bringing the community together through a local scavenger hunt, car rally and exciting auction. To date, the event has raised more than $30,000 in support of pediatric care at CMH.
We are deeply grateful to the Clemens-Donovan family for their dedication to keeping Jolene’s legacy alive. Through this meaningful annual event, they continue to make a lasting difference for children and families in our community.

Jersey Mikes Month of Giving
As a new business in the community, Jersey Mike’s Subs at 410 Hespeler Rd. in Cambridge chose to support CMH through its grand opening and annual Month of Giving campaign last year in March.
Through customer donations and a Giving Day, where 100% of sales were donated to the hospital, the local business raised $10,000 in support of essential equipment for patient care. We are grateful to Jersey Mike’s Subs and its customers for helping make a difference at CMH.
Want to host your own fundraiser? Connect with us today and we will help you organize your event.

Volunteer Spotlight
Volunteering and giving back to the community are the best therapy.
Colleen
When a shoulder injury pushed Colleen into early retirement, her passion for people never slowed down.
An early riser and devoted to supporting her elderly parents and their healthcare needs, Colleen donates many of her earlier hours in the day to CMH. Whether it’s guiding patients across the hospital or greeting them with a cheerful smile, her running shoes and eagerness to help are always close by.
Ontario First: CMH upgrades PICC line technology
Thanks to donor support, CMH is one of only a handful of hospitals in Canada to adopt new PICC line technology for patients requiring longer-term IV treatments, including chemotherapy. The advanced system provides real-time guidance during insertion, helping clinicians place lines with greater accuracy and confidence.
For patients, this can mean fewer needle pokes, shorter procedure times and, in many cases, no need for an additional chest X-ray. This is one of the many ways donor generosity is helping bring innovative technology and enhanced care to CMH.

Equipment Spotlight: Ventilators
Ventilators help lungs breathe when they are too weak or damaged to breathe on their own.
When I was in the Hospital I needed a constant supply of oxygen. One night I woke up in a panic. I was shaking, coughing, and having severe difficulty breathing. Knowing that CMH had all the equipment I needed to help me breathe gave me great comfort.
