After 10 months of meticulous construction, the highly-anticipated lab was unveiled last week marking a new chapter of this expanded lab space. The space will serve as the core lab to over 60 dedicated CMH laboratory staff, who spearhead the processing of tests for our Community’s benefit. This remarkable milestone could not have been accomplished without the collaborative spirit of our phenomenal CMH teams. Their expertise and passion have been instrumental in transforming this vision into a reality, and we are truly grateful for their outstanding contributions!
The vital equipment showcased in the new lab is critical to diagnoses and treatment would not be possible without the generosity of our Community. As with all hospital equipment, the tools used by our lab team are generously funded through donations.
Some Lab facts:
- Lab operates 24/7 – reduced staff in evenings and on weekends to cover Emergency department needs.
- The new lab is double the size they previously had, meaning larger work areas for staff, new equipment and less noise
- The lab conducts 1.2 Million tests annually
