Thank you to all the attendees and sponsors who had a part in the overall success of the Summer Solstice Sip & Taste event held at Roseville Estate on June 23rd. The festivities managed to raise an impressive $36,500! The generous support of our CMH community makes it possible to acquire new life-saving equipment, expand clinical services to our community.
The Sip & Taste event revolved around exquisite food and wine pairings, live music, a silent auction, and above all, the chance for great conversations to happen in an organic setting. Guests were treated to warm weather, clear blue skies, and the stunning landscape the venue had to offer.
It was a night to remember, and we thank you all for coming out and supporting the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation!
The Night at a Glance
Guests were greeted by a few of the friendly CMH Foundation staff and were directed to the refreshment table, where each attendee was given a beautifully garnished mocktail to take with them as they explored the grounds.
Under a red maple tree stood Eric Bolton. He perfectly captured the essence of the night with his calm voice and an intricate playing style which he managed to effortlessly uphold as he chatted with guests between songs.
Night at a Glance Continued
As food and wine stations prepared to open, guests snacked on a gorgeous charcuterie board, delicately garnished with fresh-cut flowers and beautiful designs that left no small detail overlooked.
Lisa Short, Executive Director of the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation, took a moment to welcome and thank all who had a part in the success of the event. The speech was short and light-hearted, matching the intended mood of the evening. Lisa finished the introduction by handing the microphone to the Sommelier of the evening, Dylan Petrovski, who did a wonderful job of guiding guests through the different pairing stations.
Four food and wine stations that spread across the grounds opened at six o’clock for guests to circulate at their leisure. A guest favourite seemed to be the freshly shucked oyster bar, with small glasses of sparkling Riesling from Lakeview Cellars on the corresponding tables. A steady line of guests conversed happily by the pool as they waited for their turn at the station. A poutine table with your choice of add-ons filled one corner of the pavilion which later hosted the dessert station with the Lakeview Pinot Rose and Cab-Merlot.
Guests either chose to sit poolside at one of the more intimate garden bistro sets or under the pavilion at larger tables, which surrounded the silent auction.
