CMHReveal Raises over $680K to Support New Mammography Machine and Patient Essentials

Community Generosity Shines Through at CMH’s Signature Fundraiser, Supporting Critical Cancer Screening Close to Home

Cambridge, Ontario – Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation is proud to announce that CMHReveal 2025 has raised over $680,000 to fund new and replacement equipment for CMH, including a new mammography machine.

The gala event, presented by Faisal Susiwala Realty, took place February 21 at Tapestry Hall. Over 300 guests witnessed an inspired outpouring of Community support through donations, ticket sales and a live auction with Layne the Auctionista. An incredible vacation to Mexico was donated by Hyatt & Direct Travel and raffled off during the event.

“Thanks to the generosity of our Community, donors and sponsors, we are not only on track but have exceeded our fundraising goal for this year’s CMHReveal!” said Lisa Short, President and CEO, CMH Foundation. “This incredible support will directly benefit patients who need access to life-saving breast cancer screening services.”

Cambridge Memorial Hospital is designated as an OBSP Breast Screening Site. CMH provides timely, high-quality diagnosis and follow-up. Just last year, CMH provided 3,178 breast screenings, a 20% increase from previous years. The funds raised at CMHReveal will help CMH meet the increasing demand for mammography services, particularly in light of the lowered screening age of 40. This enhanced accessibility will ensure that more people can benefit from early detection and timely treatment.

Shedding more light on the funds raised at the CMHReveal, Lisa Short added, “We are especially grateful to Kathleen Ewing and her family who made a significant gift towards the event. We are thrilled to share that the Mammography and Bone Density Waiting Area at CMH has been named in their honour.”

The Ewing Family, long-time supporters of CMH, also expressed their pride in contributing to CMH and the Foundation’s vital work. “As a retired nurse, healthcare has been my life’s work. I never imagined I would be able to do something like this, but now that I can, it’s amazing to support CMH in this way,” noted Kathleen Ewing. “It was a special moment to watch our gift inspire other donations during the event.”

For Tracy Pendergast, whose father passed away from breast cancer after being diagnosed at the final stage of the disease, stage 4, and whose sister Becky Riley has undergone a double mastectomy and reconstruction at CMH, this cause is deeply personal. “Having a Hospital like CMH, with such incredible care, so close to home, is a true blessing for families like mine. Early detection and local care make all the difference when it comes to cancer treatment and peace of mind for both, the person diagnosed and their family.” The sisters shared their story with the crowd at CMHReveal. Watch the video here.

The evening’s festivities featured Mariachi-style entertainment, delicious, themed food, and heartfelt moments of Community pride—all in support of advancing and supporting Future Ready healthcare at CMH.

The Foundation extends its sincere thanks to all attendees, donors, auction and in-kind contributors, including new CaringLEAD Sponsor, Faisal Susiwala Realty, for their generosity. Additional event sponsors included EllisDon (CaringPLATINUM), Miller Thompson, TD, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada Inc., See Your House Now and Tapestry Hall (all 5 at the CaringGOLD level). Sponsors and partners of CMH Signature events help to ensure that CMH has the tools to provide exceptional care close to home.
