When Zephaniah complained about jaw pain, his mom thought it was something simple. He was thirteen and it seemed maybe he had his wisdom tooth growing. But a routine scan at CMH revealed something far more serious… a rare and aggressive tumour.
In our latest appeal, Dr. Sufian Sheikh shares how donor-funded technology, like advanced 3D imaging and surgical modelling, helped him take an innovative, modern and compassionate approach to remove this tumour.

Jersey Mike’s Subs makes fundraising delicious this March
March was the Month of Giving at Jersey Mike’s Subs and the 410 Hespeler Rd store chose CMH to support this year. Throughout the month, customers can round up their order to the nearest dollar or make a donation to help bring essential equipment to our hospital.
And on Wednesday, March 25 the store celebrated their big Day of Giving where 100% of sales were donated to CMH.
We are truly grateful to Jersey Mike’s for their support, and for organizing this delicious fundraiser. Big thanks to everyone who participated!


CMH celebrates innovation at the second HealthTech Showcase
The second annual HealthTech Innovation Showcase at CMH was a celebration of innovation; bringing together staff, physicians, and midwives for an inspiring evening of collaboration and discovery. Attendees explored inventive solutions from emerging startups addressing real clinical challenges, while sharing valuable insights from their frontline experience.
Pitches included AI-enabled tools to detect infections in real time, wearable cardiac monitors for extended arrhythmia detection, platforms integrating ICU data into a single view and more.
CMH is pleased to partner with McMaster University’s MACcelerate initiative to help foster meaningful connections and advance patient care. The event underscores CMH’s growing culture of innovation and its dedication to keep care Future Ready.
