Everyone is invited to join Trees of Caring- a cherished community tradition that supports local care.
Cambridge, ON— Cambridge Memorial Hospital Foundation (CMHF) has officially launched this year’s Trees of Caring campaign, a 37-year community tradition that brings people together to honour and celebrate someone special in their lives as they light the way for compassionate care at Cambridge Memorial Hospital (CMH).

This holiday season, people can make a gift in honour of someone special; someone they miss, adore, or a person that has made a positive impact in their life.
With every tribute, a symbolic light will be placed in the hospital courtyard, creating a warm and hopeful environment for those who visit the hospital.
“For nearly four decades, Trees of Caring has given our community a meaningful way to remember, celebrate, and give back during the holidays. Each light represents love and compassion that continues to shine in our hospital courtyard,” says Lisa Short, President and CEO of CMH Foundation. “Gifts made to Trees of Caring help bring new and modern equipment to the hospital, ensuring that same compassion touches the lives of patients and families every day at CMH.”
Being remembered is one of the most potent forms of love.
This year’s Trees of Caring appeal features the reflections of Robert Heintz, Spiritual Care Coordinator at CMH, as he shares heartwarming stories that don’t always show up on medical charts but are profoundly healing. From hosting a memorial service for a dementia patient who was unable to attend his wife’s funeral, to organizing a wedding to fulfill a young woman’s final wish, these sacred moments are possible with the support of our generous donors.
The Spiritual Care Team at CMH provides comfort to our patients and staff through difficult times; when words fall short, when a hand to hold is needed, when grief is too heavy to carry alone.
