A New Chapter Begins: First Patient in Wing B
Earlier this month, we celebrated another major milestone as Stanley became the first patient in the newly opened Wing B. His arrival in Medicine B4 Inpatient Surgery marked the successful completion of a seamless department move.
With the new areas now fully operational, the modernized layout will enhance patient care, accessibility, and staff efficiency.
Thanks to our dedicated CMH staff and to the Community for their incredible support throughout this process. We’re excited to continue this journey of providing exceptional care close to home.

Exciting Update: Pneumatic Tube System Now Live in Wing B!
We’re thrilled to announce that CMH’s pneumatic tube internal delivery system is now fully operational in Wing B, enhancing efficiency throughout CMH. The pneumatic tube system connects CMH’s various departments and surgical rooms with the Hospital’s laboratory and pharmacy. The capsules (see image on right) carry and make instant delivery of medications, patient samples, documents, and more between departments, speeding up workflows and improving patient care.

Key Benefits:
- Faster, secure transport of medications, specimens, and documents.
- Reduced turnaround times for lab specimens and specialized medications.
- Tube stations are integrated into key departments, located in most Wing A & B Communication Centres (main nursing stations), to streamline operations.
The Wing A portion of the tube system will also be integrated and operational soon. This will further reduce patient travel distances and support faster deliveries across the hospital.

2025 Salute to Women Luncheon Exceeds Its Goal!
We are thrilled to announce that the Cambridge Chamber’s 2025 Salute to Women Luncheon raised an impressive $16,000 for CMH’s Breast Reconstruction Program!
This year’s event, which welcomed 250 guests, surpassed its fundraising goal, thanks to generous donations and a successful silent auction featuring 60 items from local businesses.
Since 2008, the luncheon’s silent auction has raised over $150,000, supporting growth and innovations for our Breast Reconstruction Program. A heartfelt thank you to the Cambridge Chamber and all who made this event a success!
