We are excited to announce that Lisa Maenpaa has joined the CMH Foundation as our new Director of Finance.
With a strong background in both nonprofit and finance, Lisa will be leading our finance portfolio, ensuring continued growth, success and Foundation support.
Lisa is excited to continue the work of our soon retiring Controller, Karen Seeley, after a 27-year tenure. Within a short time of onboarding, Lisa already calls the Foundation office a “happy place” as she looks forward to connecting with other staff and volunteers.
Lisa comes to the Foundation after 11 years of working in finance at the University of Waterloo. Prior to that, she spent seven years at other nonprofit organizations where she had the opportunity to gain invaluable international experience.
As part of her roles, Lisa visited and connected with the people of Morocco, Tanzania and Nicaragua. Reflecting on these life-changing travels, Lisa notes that it helped expand her perspective and deepened her commitment to give back to the Community.
Lisa Maenpaa holds a CPA, CGA designation and has a Master’s degree in Environment and Business from the University of Waterloo.
When she’s not working, Lisa enjoys hiking, camping and knitting, and loves spending quality time with her family.
