Celebrating Recent Awards- Congratulations Nicola and Angelo!
Congratulations to all nominees and award recipients of the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce Community Awards. We are so pleased to share that Nicola Melchers, CMH Board member and previous CMHF Board member, won the Board Member Award.
The CMH Foundation was also humbled to have been awarded the Top Organization (under 10 employees)! This recognition motivates us to keep pushing forward, bringing the best equipment to Cambridge Memorial Hospital so our physicians, nurses, and staff can continue providing top-notch care close to home. We are deeply grateful for your support that led to this honour.
On National Philanthropy Day (Nov 15), we also celebrated Angelo Loberto for winning Outstanding Volunteer in Philanthropy- Waterloo Region at the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Golden Horseshoe Chapter luncheon. Learn more about his award and his contributions to CMH and the Community in our press release here.

An Evening of Appreciating…YOU!
On November 7, we celebrated our CMHChampions with an evening of appreciation and Hospital updates. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Donna Kolyn shared an insightful presentation on the evolution of breast cancer surgery at CMH over 30 years. She highlighted the incredible progress our Hospital has made in providing advanced care and technology close to home, and the donors who made this possible. A big thank you to Dr. Kolyn and to our CMHChampion donors for attending!

Welcoming Bernardo Recine – One of 3 New Board Members!
We are excited to introduce you to Bernardo Recine, our newest CMHF Board member. Born and raised in Cambridge, Bernardo has been closely involved with the Community and has volunteered throughout his career.
He shares, “the Foundation is a great conduit between the Community and how we can influence one of the most important institutions, the Hospital, that we have in the Region.”
After graduating from Western, Bernardo has worked in the Manufacturing sector for over 30 years.
Prior to CMH, his extensive volunteer work included supporting charities like Work For A Cure, Canadian Cancer Society, McMaster Children’s Hospital, Muscular Dystrophy Canada, and Ronald McDonald House. He also volunteers coaching senior Men’s soccer, leading his teams to over 10 championships.
Watch for other member introductions in upcoming editions of Inspired Champions, or read about them here.

Celebrating our Physicians and Medical Staff
On November 19th, CMHF co-hosted the annual MPSA (Medical & Professional Staff Association) event in appreciation of medical staff and shared important Foundation updates with attendees. We also celebrated some important CMH career milestones of MPSA members.
We enjoy this opportunity to celebrate our medical staff and bring colleagues together in a fun, social atmosphere. This event was made possible by the generous sponsorship of MNP.
